My name is Anna Markow

I help people gain personal insights, clarify goals, overcome blocks, build confidence, and alleviate health-related anxieties to transform their mindset, their relationships, and their lives with individualized strategies that work.

I’m a licensed psychologist specializing in pain, trauma, and health psychology.

At the core of my practice is helping individuals overcome chronic pain, anxiety, trauma, stress, insomnia, and emotional pain.

My qualifications include a master’s degree in Applied Psychology, postgraduate studies in Psychotraumatology, and completion of European Pain School in Siena, Italy. I’m a certified Neurofeedback Therapist, Rational Behavior Therapist, Cognitive-behavioral Insomnia Therapist, and have undergone Integrative Trauma Therapy training. I’m currently pursuing certification in Somatic Experiencing therapy.

My professional experience spans from time as a scientific associate in medical school, to working as a pain psychologist in the Krakow University Hospital’s Department of Pain Research and Treatment.

Such positions allowed me to build a confident foundation for a decade-long career in chronic pain and psychological support. This tenure has only strengthened my innate people-skills and personable communication style.

I’m also the proud writer of several chapters and scientific articles on the psychology of pain.

As someone who’s experienced periods of chronic pain first-hand, I offer heightened compassion and insight into the experience of trauma and, most importantly, how to approach it with a healing intent.

Having and overcoming such experiences, combined with my successful tenure in psychology, have properly equipped me to offer strategies, coping mechanisms, cognitive-behavioural interventions and somatic practices that effectively improve mental health, overcome trauma, and foster healing and resilience.

Nowadays, I run private psychological practices, dedicating my daily efforts to healing patients.

I give lectures and conduct workshops on trauma, suicide prevention, burnout, emotional support, and confidence-building exercises for school faculty and students.

Professionally, I’m passionate about the power of healing, the intersection of mind and body, exploring new ways of understanding and treating pain, and how we spread knowledge about trauma to create informative workplaces, schools, and societies. Outside of my career, I’m often found exploring photography, art, travel, writing, and enjoying a mindful, active lifestyle.

I believe that achieving a more balanced and calm mindset is the catalyst towards reduced stress, enhanced resilience, and a stronger ability to navigate emotional challenges. By focusing on these areas of personal and mental growth, I’m able to help individuals regain a sense of purpose, ultimately achieving their goals and finding greater meaning in life.
